LEGO have unveiled the latest addition to their 2022 line up - Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone.
Recreating a familiar scene from the original Genesis/Megadrive video game, this set includes a number of details such as the ring loop, palm trees, sunflowers and badniks Crabmeat and Motobug.

The 1,125 piece set also comes with big bad Dr Robotnik (who was later renamed Dr Eggman).
This isn't Sonic's first venture in to LEGO. He previously appeared in 2016 in the LEGO Dimensions toys-to-life game as a minifigure with blue car and his Sonic 2 plane mini-builds. Sonic's return to LEGO is thanks to fan and designer Viv Grannell who submitted the set to the LEGO Ideas programme in 2020.
The set appears modular in design so you can connect multiple Green Hill Zones together.. maybe with Sonic's popularity facing a boost with the new Sonic 2 movie this April, there could be a chance that LEGO will release other zones in the future?
