SNES Classic Launches This September

As rumoured ever since the NES Classic Mini was announced, Nintendo have revealed the follow-up to their successful retro console will be going 16-bit.

The SNES Classic Mini will come with 2 SNES controllers and 21 games, along with the ability to connect via HDMI for your modern TV.

The 21 games will be:

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-ZERO
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2
  • Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch-Out!!
  • Yoshi’s Island

The eagle-eyed among you will spot the appearance of Star Fox 2, which is exclusive to the console after being axed for the original SNES near the end of the console's life.

Last year's NES Classic was extremely difficult to track down, but Nintendo promises there will be much more stock for this follow-up.

The SNES Classic launches September 29th for $79.99/£79.99.
