LEGO BrickHeadz Buzz Lightyear Review
To infinity and beyond!
The Toy Story gang have arrived as LEGO BrickHeadz! Buzz, Woody and Bo Peep join other Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Ariel, Jack Skellington and Jack Sparrow as a blocky LEGO collectible figurine.
Buzz Lightyear is a great candidate for a BrickHeadz set thanks to his bright lime green and purple colours, the array of different translucent studs for lights and the extended wing design.
If you've built any of the other BrickHeadz sets before, then you probably know roughly what to expect with Buzz Lightyear - but I'm happy to say there are a couple of nice surprises too.

Although from the outside Buzz's body follows the usual 4x4 stud pattern, the actual interior of the body provides room for four small LEGO "batteries" which double up as providing a shaking noise for the set, just like a real toy.
Buzz as a BrickHeadz set
On the rear of Buzz's body is his jetpack which neatly uses a couple of different LEGO tricks to add detail; and attached to his back are his trademark wings. Unfortunately they don't pop out as they do in the movies and in some other toys; but they do look cool and have a little room for movement.
As a small negative for the wings, if you're someone who displays BrickHeadz side by side, then Buzz's wings may cause you some some pain displaying him next to other BrickHeadz in certain display cabinets due to the width they add - however they can be pushed backwards if you're ok with the extra depth.
In conclusion, the Buzz Lightyear Brickheadz set is an inexpensive way to get access to a visually great LEGO set. It's a great introduction to new BrickHeadz fans; and it adds a couple of twists on the usual format for these builds!
